How to Get Started with Notion: Sign Up, Workspace, Pages & Share Links
Sign up → workspace → pages → share link.
Signing up at notion.so, landing in a workspace, creating pages, and copying a share link with the right view/comment/edit access is Notion’s official path for personal notes and lightweight handoffs. This guide follows Notion’s own signup and help docs — no shared Plus accounts or bypass tools.
The query is Notion sign up workspace create page share link. You need email access or Google / Apple sign-in. The Free plan covers registration, pages, and basic sharing; see notion.so/pricing for team limits and upgrades.
Who this is for and what you need
First-time Notion users who want notes, to-dos, or a single page to send as a link. Use only notion.so, official apps, and notion.com/help. Do not publish passwords or confidential data on pages you open to the web.
-
1
Sign up on notion.so
Open notion.so/signup or Get Notion free. Register with email, Google, or Apple. Confirm your email if prompted, set a display name, and complete the short onboarding (personal, team, or school — you can change this later).
-
2
Create or use your workspace
Notion creates a default workspace (name at the top of the sidebar). For solo Free use, that is usually enough. Rename under Settings → Workspace → Workspace name. For teams, use Settings → Members to invite people or follow team onboarding. Switch workspaces from the sidebar header dropdown if you belong to several.
-
3
Create pages and subpages
Click + New page in the sidebar and add a title. Type / in the body to insert headings, bulleted lists, to-dos, and other blocks. Add a subpage with + → Page or the /page command; nested pages appear under the parent in the sidebar. Drag pages to reorder hierarchy.
-
4
Share link basics
On the page, click Share (top right). Invite by email for workspace or page access, or use Copy link / web sharing toggles (wording may appear as Publish or similar in updates). Set access to Can view, Can comment, or Can edit. To revoke access, return to Share and remove invites or turn off public sharing. See notion.com/help for “Share your work” and permissions.
Invite vs link
Email invites suit ongoing collaboration; Copy link suits passing one page. Guest vs member roles differ — check the Share panel.
Public pages
Anyone with the URL may access a publicly shared page. Keep secrets off those pages.

What this has to do with a browser canvas
Notion is for linked documents. If you only need a live diagram or flow sketch, open the rtcroom home page for a no-signup board — or read Bitwarden basics for credentials hygiene.
Still wondering?
Does the recipient need to log in?
Depends on how you shared the page — guest view vs workspace member. The Share panel states what is required.
Can Free plans share pages?
Yes, with Free-tier limits on blocks and uploads. Upgrade at notion.so/pricing for larger teams.
How do I undo sharing?
Open Share on that page, remove people, or disable public/web access. Old links usually stop working once access is removed.
